Permanent water conservancy projects impose extremely high standards on structural stability, impermeability, and long-term durability. Conventional building materials are highly susceptible to damage and leakage when exposed to long-term water erosion, alternating hydrostatic and earth pressures, and acidic or alkaline corrosion. Engineering professionals have actively adopted the “Golden Bell” plastic-steel sheet piles. Leveraging a new polymer composite structure, these sheet piles establish a high-strength, highly impermeable, and long-lasting protective system for various permanent water conservancy structures, thoroughly resolving the problems of aging, leakage, and collapse associated with traditional support structures.
The R&D team employs a modified polymer polymerization process to manufacture Jinzhongzhao plastic-steel sheet piles, precisely optimizing material ratios to significantly enhance the piles’ resistance to aging, corrosion, and impact. Through an integrated extrusion molding process, we solidify the cross-sectional structure of the sheet piles, endowing them with stable mechanical load-bearing capacity. This enables them to actively withstand external forces such as fluctuating water levels, lateral soil pressure, and scouring by water flow, extending the design service life of the project to over 50 years. They are perfectly suited for permanent water conservancy applications such as riverbank protection, reservoir slopes, irrigation canal systems, and seepage prevention at gate foundations.
Construction crews utilize the integrated interlocking tongue-and-groove structure of Jinzhongzhao plastic-steel sheet piles to rapidly complete pile assembly, interlocking each pile to form a complete, continuous retaining wall. We install specialized waterstop seals at the interlocking points of the sheet piles to proactively seal gaps between piles, completely blocking water seepage pathways and eliminating piping, sand boils, and soil erosion at their source. The construction team strictly controls the verticality of pile driving and the precision of assembly, adhering to standardized procedures throughout the process. This effectively mitigates the risk of leaks caused by structural misalignment or loose joints, ensuring the integrity and watertightness of the retaining structure.
In long-term shoring operations, Jinzhongzhao plastic-steel sheet piles actively bear and evenly distribute lateral water and soil pressure, stably transferring upper loads to deep, firmly embedded soil layers. Technical personnel precisely calculate the embedment depth based on on-site geological conditions, slope height, and hydrological parameters, and scientifically formulate construction plans to ensure the pile structure effectively resists deformation pressures caused by slope slippage and uneven foundation settlement.
These sheet piles possess excellent ductility, eliminating concerns about structural fractures caused by repeated water level fluctuations or minor ground deformations. They overcome the brittleness inherent in traditional concrete structures, ensuring the long-term safety and stability of the slope and foundation. At the same time, by eliminating the use of steel, the pile structure proactively avoids electrochemical corrosion, maintaining stable mechanical properties throughout long-term submerged service and significantly reducing the workload associated with future maintenance, reinforcement, and renovation.
During the waterproofing phase, we rely on Jinzhongzhao plastic-steel sheet piles to construct a continuous, enclosed waterproof barrier, effectively preventing bidirectional seepage between river water and groundwater. For sections with high water levels and high permeability, our technicians proactively fill the interlocking joints with specialized waterproof sealing materials to further enhance the overall waterproofing effectiveness and elevate the waterproofing safety rating of permanent water conservancy projects. The entire construction process simplifies the cumbersome procedures of traditional concrete seepage control. We use small-scale static pressure equipment to complete pile driving, significantly shortening the construction schedule, reducing slurry pollution, and maximizing protection of the waterbody’s native ecological environment.
During the project’s operation and maintenance phase, staff need only conduct regular visual inspections and joint checks; there is no need for tedious tasks such as rust removal, corrosion prevention, or repairs, effectively lowering the project’s lifecycle operation and maintenance costs. Extensive practical application has proven that Jinzhongzhao plastic-steel sheet piles can actively adapt to various complex hydraulic engineering conditions. They combine multiple core advantages—including long-term support, airtight impermeability, and resistance to aging and corrosion—comprehensively addressing the performance shortcomings of traditional hydraulic engineering materials. Currently, this product is widely used in various permanent hydraulic engineering projects. We continue to promote this green and efficient support and impermeabilization technology to help hydraulic engineering projects achieve their goals of long-term safety, low-carbon, and durable construction.
